Research Assistant – Institute of Applied Informatics

Institute of Applied Informatics at the University of South Bohemia is in terms of research activities focused mainly on: security, simulations, multimedia, long-term archiving of electronic data, wireless sensory networks, system integration, etc. We are looking for a research assistant to join our dynamic team and help drive the development of a new concept of the institute. What would be your main responsibilities

  • research activity on your own projects
  • preparation and implementation of own research projects, cooperation with other research groups at the faculty
  • lecture of courses at the Institute of Applied Informatics (prf.jcu.cz/uai)
  • upgrade and modernization of study programs in informatics, preparation of accreditation materials
  • promotion and development of the field of Informatics in the Czech research area
  • self-education and professional growth – a prerequisite for future habilitation in the field of Informatics
  • development of cooperation with informatics graduates and their potential employers
  • cooperation with Czech and foreign research institute in the field


  • PhD degree in informatics, computer technology, cybernetics applied mathematics or related field
    • alternatively started PhD studies
  • independent research activity supported by publications, participation in conferences or results of applied research
  •  independent education activity supported by an overview of courses taught
  • proficiency in English (Czech is a plus)
  • experience with leading projects in basic or applied research
  • good organizational, pedagogical and communication skills
  • ability to execute an independent creative and innovative tasks, reliability, sense of responsibility
