The Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences invites applications for the position of outreach and advocacy specialist in the field of gender equality policy in research and innovation in its research department, the Centre for Gender and Science.

Working time: estimated 100% full time equivalent (candidates available at a lower FTE equivalent will be considered; minimum at 50% of full time equivalent)

Role summary:

The Advocacy and Outreach Specialist will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, outreach and advocacy in the field of gender equality policy in the European Research Area related to the outcomes of GENDERACTIONplus project as well as to facilitate policy recommendation development and diffusion among external stakeholders and networks. We invite applications from highly self-motivated and creative individuals with a strong interest in the public outreach and policy advocacy, with a good grasp of the policy landscape at the EU level.

Job requirements:

  • A minimum of master’s degree in public policy, public relations, communication or journalism or another Social Science degree
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience of which minimum 1 year relevant to the advocacy and outreach areas as outlined in the role summary section
  • Proven track record of producing public information, policy briefs, advocacy materials and communication products in various formats
  • Experience in supporting or managing partnerships with governments and international partners
  • Good track record of working with print and electronic media
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of working with multimedia content and designing advocacy, information and communication products
  • Teamwork experience and good interpersonal skills to communicate in the project consortium
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly in English, both orally and in writing
  • Independence, proactive approach and responsibility
