The Institute of Physics (the FZU) is a public research institution, concentrating on basic and applied research in the field of physics. The Institute of Physics is the largest institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences with more than 1300 employees with a considerable number of foreign workers. The ambition of the Institute of Physics is to push the boundaries of knowledge and to carry out top research in elementary particle physics, condensed systems, optics, solid state matter, plasma physics and laser physics.

At the Department of Chemistry, we are looking for a colleague to work in a European project for the following role:

Scientist (f/m) for organic synthesis Job description:

  • Experimental work in organic synthesis at a fully equipped laboratory
  • The characterisation of prepared compounds
  • Cooperation with foreign partners on an international project
  • The preparation of scientific outputs and the presentation of results at conferences
  • Other related activities.

We required:

  • MA or PhD in organic chemistry
  • Expertise in organic synthesis and structural analysis
  • Ability to work independently in organic synthesis
  • Ability to speak and understand Czech language
  • Good knowledge of English (ability to write scientific reports)
  • Responsibility, attention to detail and reliability
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate with other team members
