Job Description

We are seeking a motivated candidate to fill the academic position in the Environmental health research programme of the RECETOX Centre. The applicant should have a clear interest in research focused on chemical pollution and its impact on the environment and human health.

Key Duties:

·         participation in teaching of theoretical and practical courses of undergraduate and postgraduate students

·         preparation of educational materials

·         supervision of projects of undergraduate and postgraduate students

·         engaging in the development of research capacity for chemical, biological and environmental data processing

·         involvement in research and development activities including publication of results

·         development of own research fields including preparation and implementation of competitive projects

·         related organisation and administration duties

As an Assistant Professor, you are expected to:

·         be a member of state examination committees

·         participate in educational activities of doctoral study programs

·         contribute to framework research and infrastructure projects of the Centre, including publishing and presenting research results

Expected Skills and Qualifications

·         Ph.D. degree in epidemiology, public health, biomedicine, biostatistics, bioinformatics or related fields

·         a minimum of three years of experience as an academic researcher

·         an experience with population data analysis

·         an ability to deliver academic courses and lectures in English

·         a capacity for leading/collaborating with international/interdisciplinary teams

·         an independence and critical thinking,

·         innovativeness and capability of articulating original research objectives

·         a capability to secure own research funding and publish research results

·         own initiative, pro-active approach, and openness to new research challenges

·         a moral integrity

The candidate should be an ambitious scientist with original and critical thinking, good organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to establish, motivate, lead and fund a young research team, including students at all levels.
