Assigned Work:

Research project activities at the Department of Pharmacology, CardioTox In Vivo Research Group, in experimental cardio-oncology with focus on the oncological part of the topic. The work will mainly involve employment in vivo animal models (tumour xenograft bearing mice) to study effects of anticancer drugs on the tumour and the heart. Molecular insights to the studied effects will be obtained using standard techniques (mainly qRT-PCR and Western blot) with special interest in the role of topoisomerase II, DNA damage, DNA-damage response and chromatin damage.

Application requirements:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent academic degree (equivalent to ISCED level 8) in a biomedical program (Oncology/Cancer Research, Pharmacology or related field). PhD candidates currently finishing their degrees can also apply, but formal confirmation of their successful PhD defence will be a mandatory requirement for entering this position.
  • Be a Junior researcher according to definition of OP JAC, which means a researcher who was awarded his/her Ph.D. no more than 7 years ago (exceptions apply);
  • Demonstrated publication activity and experimental experience in the relevant research field, grant activity is an advantage;
  • Prerequisite skills for research and scientific work;
  • Experience with in vivo tumour xenograft experiments as an advantage;
  • Experience with topoisomerase II, DNA damage, DNA-damage response, chromatin damage, cancer cells or cardio-oncology experiments as an advantage.
  • Experience with qRT-PCR and/or Western Blotting as an advantage;
  • Active knowledge of English; Czech language as an advantage;
  • PC skills;
  • Teamwork skills;
  • Health capacity for work, moral integrity.
