Who are we?
Our Proteomics Core Facility, part of the CEITEC MU research infrastructure, primarily provides proteomic analyses to the academic community using mass spectrometry (MS) instrumentation coupled with liquid chromatography (LC). In this way, we participate in a wide range of projects requiring protein characterization in the fields of biochemistry, molecular and structural biology, biomedicine, microbiology, plant biology, agriculture, and food science.
About the position:
The researcher will participate in research activities of the project “Ready for the future: understanding long-term resilience of the human culture” in Programme Johannes Amos Comenius reg. no. CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004593 (Czech Republic – The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, co-funded by the European Union), which is focused on understanding basic principles of the resilience of human society in a historical perspective using long time series and on the transfer of the acquired knowledge into everyday social life. This objective will be achieved by promoting excellent research and developing collaboration between the humanities and natural sciences, such as archaeology, art history, anthropology, genetics, geology, climatology, botany, geophysics and nuclear physics. The programme aims to support the increase of the number of excellent R&D results in the Czech Republic and the development and support of excellent research teams with cutting-edge equipment in all aspects.The researcher will participate in Research work package 2: Centre for interdisciplinary integrative biomolecular research.
Your responsibilities will include preparation of research samples for protein analysis, application new paleoproteomics methods in the Czech Republic, contribution to the development of protocols, and test their optimization.
You are our ideal candidate if you have:
A bachelor’s degree or higher education
General technical aptitude and manual skills
Basic knowledge of mass spectrometry instrumentation (advantageous)
A strong sense of teamwork
Critical thinking skills
Motivation to explore/learn/implement new things
Good communication skills within the team (Czech/English)
Reliability and enthusiasm for assigned tasks
