Research Scientist (or Postdoctoral Researcher) for ONIM‑RAM

The Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (NPI CAS), a public research institution, announces—pursuant to Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, as amended by Act No. 420/2005 Coll., and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences—a selection procedure for the position of Research Scientist  or Postdoctoral Researcher to join the group’s application‑oriented and developmental activities, with motivation to prepare and implement grant projects, acquire commercial contracts, and potentially engage in teaching activities.

The Department of Neutron and Ion Methods, Radioanalytical Methods Group (ONIM‑RAM) at the Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences has been engaged for several decades in the development of radioanalytical methods and their applications across a wide range of fields. ONIM‑RAM is one of the few remaining laboratories in Europe and worldwide that continues to develop and apply activation analysis methods (primarily neutron activation analysis, NAA). The portfolio of radioanalytical methods is complemented by X‑ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) and, newly—and uniquely in the Czech Republic—by the capability to determine cosmogenic radionuclides ¹⁰Be and ²⁶Al using accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS).
