Two non-academic positions at the Department of Viticulture and Enology, Faculty of Horticulture

The department provides instruction in subjects related to the cultivation of grapevines, processing of grapes, and wine production – viticulture, agrotechnics, ampelography and biology of grapevines, winemaking, and winemaking technologies. Emphasis is placed on the application of theoretical knowledge in production processes during instruction. In its research activities, the Institute focuses on breeding new grapevine varieties, monitoring the content of substances in musts and their potential influence, and minimizing allergens in wine technology.

Research area: production of non-alcoholic and low-alcohol variants of sparkling wine, for which natural fermentation gas will be used for carbonation – predominantly carbon dioxide obtained directly from the wine production process

What will your job involve?

  • conducting research experiments in the field of viticulture and enology
  • independently carrying out expert tasks related to the provision of experiments
  • collection, analysis, and processing of data from laboratory and field studies
  • independently ensuring coherent parts of individual agendas and more complex tasks with interdisciplinary overlaps
  • participating in conceptual and methodological work, creating new procedure proposals
  • preparing scientific publications, reports, and presentations related to the research project
  • providing administrative and technical support for research projects

What do we expect from you?

  • completed master’s degree in viticulture and enology, started Ph.D. studies in horticulture or a related field
  • excellent knowledge of Czech and English
  • expertise in the field of viticulture and enology
  • good computer skills (MS Office, searching in professional databases)
  • ability to work independently and in a team
  • proactive and responsible approach to work

What research experience do we require?

  • experience with issues related to the condensation of fermentation gases (position 1)
  • experience with sensory analysis of wine (position 2)

Length of employment: fixed term until 30. 10. 2027

Workload: 0.75 (30 hours per week)
