Overview
The Czech Centre for Phenogenomics (CCP) is a leading research infrastructure providing specialized services for the biomedical and biotechnology community, focusing on genome editing, animal model research, and phenotyping.
To strengthen our team working on preclinical R&D projects related to skin diseases, we are seeking a motivated postdoctoral scientist or junior researcher who will be focused on the characterisation of Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) mouse and cellular models and test preclinical therapeutic approaches for neurodevelopmental disorder, especially PWS, alongside other team members.
Work description and responsibilities:
- Preclinical research of PWS in connection with a patient foundation
- Molecular biology and cell culture (iPSC) work
- Mouse model phenotyping analysis incl. behavioral and metabolism tests
- Development of therapeutic AAV vectors, delivery studies, efficacy studies
- Working towards agreed deadlines, identifying and troubleshooting risks at each step
Required skills/qualification:
- PhD or equivalent in a biological subject or related field
- Experience in a relevant position, particularly in molecular biology epigenetics, neurobiology, metabolism and mammalian cell culture
- Experience with mouse models (breeding, genotyping, colony maintenance)
- Experience with in vivo phenotype analysis, metabolic testing is of advantage
- Ability to work independently, lead and supervise students
- Proficiency in English
