In accordance with the The Competitive Hiring Process Code of Charles University, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University announces opening of the following position with submission deadline May 15, 2024

The position in the IPNP BSM group lead by Assoc. prof. M. Malinský is funded from the OPJAK project No. CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004632 „Fundamental constituents of matter through frontier technologies“. Expected commencement date is October 1 2024, expected contract duration is 2 years (with possible extension to 3rd year).

Qualifications

  • We look for a postdoctoral fellow in the early stage of their career with a Ph.D. (at the contract commencement date) in theoretical particle physics, astroparticle physics, cosmology or adjacent fields. The ideal candidate is expected to have expertise in a range of topics; they should be interested in dark matter phenomenology with focus on feebly coupled dark sectors and multi-component dark matter, in gravitational waves from first-order phase transitions, in neutrino mass models and theoretical approaches to the problem of flavour. Former foreign experience is expected.

  • Neutrino physics, theoretical astroparticle physics, dark matter modelling (esp. nonthermal), phase transitions and gravitational wave generation, beyond-Standard Model physics
