Director IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center, VSB – Technical University of Ostrava
announces a selection procedure for a post of
Postdoc – AI research
for Advanced Data Analysis and Simulations Laboratory.

IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Centre is a leading research, development, and innovation centre active in the fields of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Data Analytics (HPDA), Quantum Computing (QC), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their applications. We have strong international links and employ more than 150 scientific, technical and administrative staff. IT4Innovations is running three supercomputers: Karolina (15.7 PFlop/s), Barbora (849 TFlop/s), and the specialised NVIDIA DGX-2 system for AI computation. Moreover, IT4Innovations will host one of the new European quantum computers named LUMI-Q and is a member of the LUMI consortium, which currently operates the most powerful supercomputer in Europe. Activity description:

  • development of new AI enabled tools,
  • optimization of training and inference pipelines for AI models,
  • collaborate with a well established group of developers and researchers creating highly innovative platforms that make life easier for other scientists.

Full time equivalent: 1,0
Type of job contract: fixed-term employment
Expected start of employment: 01. 10. 2024 or as agreed

Number of positions: 2

We require:

  • minimum Ph.D.  in computer science,
  • required experience:
    • knowledge of AI libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow,
    • proven scientific record in AI modelling,
    • proven expirience with work on the international research projects,
    • broad knowledge of models and trends in the AI community,
    • proficiency with git,
  • experience with the following technologies is an advantage:
    • experience with High Performance Computing systems,
  • will to work in an international environment which requires good communication skills in the English language both spoken and written,
  • ability to learn new technologies and to work in a dynamic research environment.
