The Department of Physics at the University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, announces an opening for a PhD position in the area of molecular modeling of biomolecules with a focus on molecular dynamics simulations of nucleic acids and proteins. The candidate will be involved (among others) in development of force fields for biomolecules using machine learning.

Requirements:
· A strong background in one or more of the following areas: computational chemistry or physics, biomolecular simulations, molecular dynamics simulations, quantum chemistry, or related fields.
· A Master’s degree in one of the aforementioned or related disciplines.
· Experience with scripting, programming, and calculations using quantum chemistry codes (e.g., Gaussian, GAMESS) or molecular dynamics codes (e.g. Gromacs, Amber).
· Proficient written and oral communication skills in English.
· The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
