The Dean of the Faculty of Education at J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem announces an external selection procedure to fill the position of academic staff member in the Department of English at the Faculty of Education, UJEP

1 position as Lecturer/Assistant Professor

Job Description/Responsibilities: 

The selected candidate is expected to teach and oversee courses focusing on language skills and communication in English at the C2 level, as well as courses that develop academic communication skills. They may also contribute to the development of international activities and projects.  The selected candidate is expected to teach and oversee classes focusing on literature or linguistics and language didactics.

Qualifications:

A university degree specializing in English language studies and at least completed master’s education (Mgr. or M.A.) in one of the following: the field of Literatures in English/ English linguistics/English language didactics. Language competence: English language C1+, Czech language minimum A2.

Workload: Full-time (1.0).

Expected Start Date: September 1, 2025.

Place of Employment: Department of English, Faculty of Education, UJEP, Ústí nad Labem.

The selection procedure will take place in person. Candidates will briefly present their previous professional experiences and outline their visions in the event of employment at the department. The selection will be based on the candidate’s academic qualifications, professional experience, creative contributions, and the presented vision.
