Přehled
We are looking for a team member for a combined position of IT Analyst and IT Service Manager (ITSM) of data services and tools developed within a project building the Czech Republic’s research data infrastructure.
The main job responsibility will be IT service management (ITSM) of our system. This involves managing deployment, CI/CD, and integration of web services and their user support systems. The main activities will be managing the environment on local virtual servers, infrastructure container platforms, and pipelines for deploying web services. Other activities will include operating the system for monitoring deployed web services and launching the user support system.
Another part of the job description will be system analysis and architecture. The main activity will be negotiating with partners – external development teams – regarding the compatibility of components developed by our team with services developed outside the Heyrovský Institute’s team. This requires detailed knowledge of the system architecture and API interfaces of individual parts. This also involves the integration of systems (mainly solution analysis and API interface design) that store and publish scientific data and metadata with systems that control their creation and life cycle. In the case of designing new services, this will involve communicating with potential users about functionalities and processing specifications for our development team.
The position is part of a larger national initiative to build HW/SW infrastructure for advanced and maximally automated management, sharing and access to scientific data in research and government institutions, but with overlap into industry and other commercial entities. The long-term goal is to improve data handling and create optimal conditions for the integration of AI and autonomous systems for the development of new materials and technologies. This is a position in a small international IT team with broad opportunities for self-fulfillment and a broad selection of activities to participate in. Also suitable for those interested in part-time work (at least 60% FTE).
