Academic Position at the Department of Silviculture, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology

The Department of Silviculture is engaged in both pedagogical and scientific research activities in the field of forestry cultivation. It primarily addresses current issues of forest cultivation in relation to the adaptation of forest ecosystems to changing environmental conditions and societal needs. As part of practical teaching and projects, the institute collaborates with both domestic and international institutions.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Planning, organization, and oversight of all aspects of the department’s activities
  • Management of the department’s budget and resources
  • Supervision of academic and research personnel, including their regular evaluation
  • Pedagogical and research activities in the field
  • Ensuring high quality of teaching and student guidance
  • Supporting research activities and acquiring grants for the department
  • Collaboration with other departments

What do we expect from you?

  • Higher education – at least a Ph.D. in forestry, nursery management, forest protection, and cultivation, or a related field; the title of associate professor or professor is an advantage
  • Excellent active knowledge of Czech, knowledge of English for teaching and publication purposes
  • Demonstrable research activities in forestry, nursery management, forest protection, and cultivation or related fields, experience in publishing in journals with an impact factor and leading research projects at both domestic and international levels
  • Ability to navigate labor law regulations and economic rules of management in higher education
  • Organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • Capabilities for both team and independent work
  • Personal and professional prerequisites for pedagogical activity
  • Willingness to work on your further personal development and professional growth
