A leading research institute in Prague, Czechia, named after Nobel laureate in Chemistry, J. Heyrovsky, is seeking an early-stage researcher in the field of redox mechanisms of organic compounds and advanced spectroelectrochemical research.

Job description

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our team as part of a project Advanced MUltiscaLe materials for key Enabling Technologies from Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic dealing with interdisciplinary research of development of new materials and functional structures. Responsabilities and duties willinclude spectroelectrochemical studies of organic compounds, determination of their electrochemical and spectroscopic properties with aim of their application in pharmacy and medicine. Results will be published in peer-reviewed journals with appropriate co-authorship.

Required Qualifications

– a MSc. in chemistry or a related field- knowledge of electrochemical methods, cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and the exhaustive electrolysis

– knowledge of spectrophotometry, infrared spectroscopy, chromatography

– knowledge of interpretation of electrochemical data in order to determine the appropriate reaction schemes

– English communication skills, both spoken and written Preferred skills

– experience in in-situ UV-Vis and IR spectroelectrochemical research

– knowledge of data analyses using software Nova, Origin, Spartan

– ability to work efficiently both as part of a team and independently

Desired skills

– hands-on experience with in-situ fluorescence spectroelectrochemistry is an advantage
