We are looking for multiple experienced biologists from biomedical field to join our biocuration team in Prague (Czech Republic). Applicants with background in plant biology will not be considered.

Job description:

As a biocurator, your main responsibilities are:

  • Read, understand, and summarize scientific literature
  • Annotate experiments using controlled vocabularies to facilitate their integration into GENEVESTIGATOR®
  • Perform quality control of data according to internal standards
  • Make decisions on the biological correctness of data representation
  • Search in repositories of genomic data (microarray, RNAseq) for studies of interest
  • Provide support to the sales and marketing team
  • Work both individually and as a part of a team
  • Additional activities: possibility to contribute to GENEVESTIGATOR® publications, helping to improve data display/querying, interaction with the research community
  • No special computer skills are required, except good knowledge of MS office and willingness to work 8hrs/day with computer
  • Extensive initial training will be provided


  • PhD degree in molecular biology, medical biology or genomics
  • Understanding of a variety of methods used in research, both in vivo and in vitro
  • Familiarity with RNA biology, microarrays and next generation sequencing is a plus
  • Experience from clinically oriented research projects and in vivo experimentation with model organisms is a plus
  • Proficiency in written English
  • Interest in working with scientific literature
