The Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (www.img.cas.cz), is seeking for its Genomics and Bioinformatics Core Facility an MSc or PhD level scientist for a position of

Bioinformatician (core facility)

You will:

  • Implement and use workflows to analyse and visualize data generated by omics technologies with the main focus on transcriptomics, single-cell transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics and genomics
  • Extract biologically meaningful conclusions from large, high-throughput experiments using statistical approaches, perform integrative analyses of multiple omics datasets
  • Collaborate with biologists, comprehend project objectives, provide bioinformatic support throughout the project (experimental design, raw data analysis, statistical analysis, and publication-quality visualization of the omics data)

We require:

  • MSc or PhD in bioinformatics, biostatistics, computational biology, biophysics, molecular biology, or a related field. Formal training or proven exposure to functional genomics and biological data analysis
  • Experience in learning and applying software and database resources for custom analyses. Experience with scientific computing and data visualization tools, such as R, Python, experience with Linux-based systems
  • Strong understanding of statistics and molecular biology
  • Strong communication skills, solid command of English
