Academic Position at the Department of Silviculture, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology

Research field: techniques and technologies of nursery operations

The Department of Silviculture has long been engaged in research and education in the field of restoration, establishment, and management of forest stands with an emphasis on ecologically and economically sustainable practices. It collaborates with several domestic and international institutions and actively participates in addressing current challenges in forestry, including the impacts of climate change and adaptation measures in forest ecosystems.

What will be your responsibilities?

  • preparation and delivery of lectures, exercises, and field trips focusing on nursery operation techniques and technologies
  • conducting lectures and exercises in both Czech and English
  • consultation, mentoring, and reviewing of students’ final theses
  • developing educational, scientific research, and creative activities in the specified area
  • presenting research results through publications in scientific journals and contributions at conferences and seminars
  • active participation in research projects and grants

What do we expect from you?

  • Master’s degree in forestry, horticulture, or arboriculture and attainment of a Ph.D.
  • excellent knowledge of Czech and English
  • experience in teaching in both Czech and English
  • experience supervising students’ final theses, at least in the role of consultant
  • active knowledge of MS Office products
  • publishing activity
  • willingness to work on your personal development and qualification growth

What additional skills would be appreciated?

  • driver’s license group B – active driver

Duration of employment: fixed term for 2 years
