Academic Position at the Department of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Horticulture
Research Areas: construction and building materials, biotechnology, urban infrastructure, landscape urbanism, urban sustainability, urban public space, parametric design, AI in architecture and landscape architecture, BIM
The Department of Landscape Architecture represents an established creative and research workplace with a comprehensive professional range. In its activities, the department consistently connects theoretical research with creative practice, emphasizing a balance between ecological sustainability, aesthetic value, and the quality of public space. This approach is applied across the entire field, from the preservation of historical heritage to designing a healthy and aesthetically valuable environment for contemporary society. The identity of the department is defined by an emphasis on studio teaching, international collaboration, and addressing real tasks in a multidisciplinary context. Key priorities include current civilizational challenges, particularly the adaptation of settlements to climate change, the application of blue-green infrastructure, the development of public space systems, and the sustainable development of the urbanized landscape.

What will your responsibilities be?
- leading lectures, exercises, and seminars
- guaranteeing subjects dedicated primarily to buildings and structures in landscape architecture, their innovations, preparation of scripts, etc.
- supervising and reviewing student theses (bachelor’s and master’s)
- preparing and coordinating grant applications and projects, participating in solving other scientific research tasks
- presenting the results of your scientific research activities to the expert community through professional publications (preferably according to RIV)
- actively participating in conferences and seminars
- involvement in other activities of the department (exhibition activities, etc.)
What do we expect from you?
- completed doctoral studies in Architecture and Urbanism, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
interest and ability to convey knowledge, experiences, and skills to students, teach, lead seminars/exercises - excellent command of the Czech language, ability to teach in Czech
- independence and responsibility, ability to work in a team, excellent organizational and communication skills
- ability to work with programs common for landscape architects (e.g. AutoCAD (CAD), GIS (QGIS, ArcGIS), 3D modeling (SketchUp, Rhinoceros), visualization (Lumion, Twinmotion), graphic programs (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), BIM tools (Revit, Archicad)
- publishing activity, preferably in indexed databases Scopus and WoS.
- interest and ability to prepare applications for grant calls (TAČR, NAZV, GAČR, international, etc.), to be a member/leader of a project team
What will we appreciate additionally?
- authorization certificate from ČKA (Česká komora architektů)/ČKAIT
- active process of preparing a habilitation thesis, started habilitation procedure
- portfolio of professional publications recorded in RIV and/or creative outputs recorded in RUV
- documented experience from professional practice
- documented experience in preparing, submitting, and solving grant projects
- experience from foreign professional internships and residencies lasting more than 1 month
- active command of the English language at an excellent level

Expected start date: July 2026 or by agreement
Duration of employment: for a fixed term of 1 year, with the possibility of extension
