Academic Research Position at the Department of Food Technology, Faculty of AgriSciences
Research Area: microbiology and food technology
The Department of Food Technology at the Faculty of Agriculture of MENDELU focuses on the complete process of processing agricultural raw materials into food, emphasizing their quality, safety, and innovations. The main areas of specialization are divided into four sections: 1. Processing of Animal Products: Production and evaluation of meat, meat products, milk, dairy products, eggs, and honey. 2. Processing of Plant Products: Processing technology of cereals, fruits, vegetables, and other plant commodities. 3. Quality and safety: Laboratory and sensory control, ensuring hygiene standards, and food chain safety. 4. Human Nutrition. The workplace has pilot plants at MENDELU and now operates a modern Lifestyle Counseling Center, connecting technological knowledge with human nutrition, under the patronage of SPV.
What will your job involve?
- conducting research experiments in the field of microbiology and food technology
- collection, analysis, and processing of data from laboratory and field studies
- preparation of scientific publications, reports, and presentations related to the research project
- participation in professional conferences, seminars, and popularization of research results
- ensuring administrative and technical support for research projects
- active participation in project meetings and preparation of grant applications
What do we expect from you?
- Ph.D. degree focusing on microbiology and food technology
- excellent knowledge of Czech and English
- experience working in a laboratory, including sample processing, data analysis, and working with laboratory equipment
- publishing activities in the field of microbiology and food technology
- the ability to write scientific articles, reports, and project applications
- active participation in solving research projects, experience with grant funding
