Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, represented by the Dean of the Faculty, announces an open competition according to the Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions

for the project New Technologies for Translational Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences /NETPHARM,
Project No.: CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004607,

within the Operation Programme Johannes Amos Comenius (OP JAK), P 1: Research and Development, SO 1.1: Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and deploying advanced technologies,

to fill the research position:

FaF_VZ2_53: Researcher (junior), 0.8 FTE (80 %),

Place of work: Hradec Králové

Responsibilities:

  • Independent performance of the research activities in the relevant field.
  • Design, organization of work, planning and execution of experiments for VZ2 (WP2).
  • Introduction and application of in vitro methods for the study of cardiotoxicity of anticancer drugs with a focus on the role of topoisomerase II and the development of new cardioprotective agents, work with cell cultures.
  • Monitoring of interactions of the studied molecules with enzymes.
  • Performing parametric and non-parametric statistical analyses.
  • Interpreting data with a view to extrapolation to humans and developing application potential.
  • Presentation and publication of the achieved results on an international level.
  • Involvement in the preparation of related national and international projects.
  • Participation in key project activities with an emphasis on application potential.

Profile:

  • A researcher who is no more than 7 years beyond the award of his/her academic Ph.D. or its equivalent (ISCED level 8 equivalent).
  • Completed university doctoral studies (PhD degree) in a field of in the field with biomedical focus at a university in the Czech Republic or achieved a comparable degree at a foreign university no later than on the date of employment.
  • Junior researcher H-index ≥ 3 (is an advantage), min. 1 first-authored publication (preferably with IF ≥ 3), completed PhD studies, letter of recommendation from 2 experts in the field (at least 1 from a foreign institution), required education in the relevant field of research, grant activity is an advantage, active knowledge of English language.
  • Scientific and publication activity in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, toxicology.
  • Excellent knowledge of molecular biological techniques and methodologies (especially with a focus on topology and DNA damage).
  • Previous experience in the field of cardiotoxicity of drugs, experience with in vitro study of small molecules on cell lines, experience with isolation of primary cell cultures is an advantage.

The estimated monthly wage: 62 000 CZK (1.0 FTE)

The start of work: 1 July, or can be negotiated

Type of employment contract: for 1-3 years, with the expectation that the contract will be extended until 29 February 2028.

Employment: part-time (0.8 FTE)
