SCIENTIST – CHEMIST

The Department of Nanochemistry at the Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovations of the Technical University of Liberec uses the tools of organic and inorganic chemistry for the preparation and chemical modification of (nano)materials. The department cooperates with dozens of companies within the Czech Republic (e.g. Aveflor, Temperatior) and the international reach of the department is supported by cooperation with foreign universities (e.g. University of Rhode Island, University of Turin).

Following the growth of projects, the Department of Nanochemistry is looking for a scientist in the field of organic, materials or polymer chemistry to join its team to tackle new research projects.

Working time and salary

  • Your job title will be Research Officer (C1) or Research Scientist (C2) depending on your educational background
  • 100% time (40 hours/week); lower hours can be agreed, but at least 50%
  • start preferably immediately, but later start date is also possible
  • we offer you a fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension to an indefinite period
  • you may be awarded a salary supplement or performance bonus on top of your tariff wage based on your previous experience

What will be your job description

  • You will participate in existing research projects and contracts in close collaboration with commercial and academic partners
  • you will prepare publications or other outputs of science and research

What we expect

  • a completed university degree (M.Sc., Eng. or equivalent) in science or materials; or a completed doctoral degree (Ph.D., CSc. or equivalent) in these fields
  • practice in a chemical laboratory
  • knowledge of characterization techniques (NMR, IR)
  • knowledge of Czech and English at least at C1 level
  • high level of inventiveness and creativity

Information on the selection of a suitable candidate:
