WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a colleague to join the Department of Archaeology and Museology with focus on humanities or natural sciences, such as archaeology, art history, anthropology, genetics, geology, climatology, botany and geophysics. The successful candidate will participate in research activities of the project “Ready for the future: understanding long-term resilience of the human culture (RES-HUM)” which is focused on understanding basic principles of the resilience of human society in a historical perspective using long time series and on the transfer of the acquired knowledge into everyday social life.
MAIN JOB CONTENT
Framework
- Performance of auxiliary/partial research and development work according to the instructions of the senior employee.
- Work in a research team/group.
- Involvement in publication activities, possibly also presentation of research results.
- The content of the research: collaboration on the collection, analysis, and evaluation of field data.
- The researcher will be integrated in the research team of doc. Dr. Peter Milo in collaboration with his research group at Masaryk university. The candidate is expected to apply an innovative approach to archaeology and other disciplines, to pursue a holistic and interdisciplinary concept of research on human society and its resilience in the past.
- The applicant will be free to decide on which research he/she wants to participate in the project (prehistoric, protohistoric, medieval, classical archaeology, cooperation with natural science disciplines, etc.).

- Participation in ensuring operational and administrative activities related to the position according to the instructions of the department head.

Professional education, qualifications and experience
- be a PhD student – condition
- research focus on Archaeology / Anthropology / Biology / Geology / History / Geophysics – advantage
- have a publication activity is an advantage – in the past 3 years, at least 1 publication such as “articles”, “books”, “book chapters”, “letters” and “reviews” – advantage
Length of experience required
- experience in the field is not required
Language skills
- knowledge of English language at B2 level
- knowledge of the Czech language in both written and spoken form is an advantage
