Academic Research Position at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Faculty of AgriSciences

Research area: preparation and utilization of nanomaterials

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is one of 14 departments at the Faculty of Agriculture, Mendel University in Brno. The department team consists of 80 employees who ensure scientific and pedagogical development in the following areas: biochemistry (both plant and animal) and molecular biology, microbiology, algal and plant biotechnology, nanotechnology, and bioanalytical chemistry. In the pedagogical area, the department team is dedicated to ensuring and developing 2 study programs – undergraduate studies in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and postgraduate studies in Biological Chemistry.

What will your job involve?

  • conducting lectures, exercises, and excursions in the area of preparation and utilization of nanomaterials
  • collaborating on lectures in Czech and English
  • supervising, consulting, and opposing students‘ final theses
  • developing educational as well as scientific-research and creative activities in the area of preparation and utilization of nanomaterials
  • actively participating in solving research projects and grants
  • publishing results in professional and scientific journals and in the form of contributions at conferences and seminars

What do we expect from you?

  • higher education at least at the doctoral level
  • knowledge of English at least at B1 level
  • experience in teaching in Czech and English
  • experience in supervising students‘ final theses at least as a consultant
  • developing educational as well as scientific-research and creative activities in the relevant area
  • active participation in solving research projects and grants
  • publishing results of scientific-research activities in professional journals and at conferences and seminars

What research experience do we require?

  • proven practice in research in the field of nanomaterials/nanotechnology for a duration of 3 years
  • at least 10 publications in professional journals or at conferences
  • experience working on scientific-research projects as a researcher/co-researcher or team member
