Research Assistant / Research Scientist- Institute of Applied Informatics

Institute of Applied Informatics at the University of South Bohemia is in terms of research activities focused mainly on: security, simulations, multimedia, long-term archiving of electronic data, wireless sensory networks, system integration, etc. We are looking for a research assistant to join our dynamic team and help drive the development of a new concept of the institute.   • Participation on the lecture of specialized courses of the Institute (https://www.prf.jcu.cz/en/uai )
  • Preparation of accreditation materials
  • Preparation and guarantee of own courses within the concept of the Institute
  • Supervising of thesis (Bachelor and Master level)
  • Participation on final exams (Bachelor and Master level)
  •  Own research activities within the field of the department of robotics and embedded systems
  •  Participation on large granted research projects of the Institute
  • Promotion of the Institute and the faculty


  • Master degree in the technical field – ideally in automation, robotics, electronics, embedded systems, industry 4.0 or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in the field, research activity is a plus
  • Knowledge of programming languages C and experience with implementation of own algorithms (C, Python)
  • Proficiency in English , German is a plus
  • Ability to independent and initiative work
  • Good communication and presentation skills

Nice to have:

  • PhD degree or willingness to start PhD studies within 3 years
  • Patience, willingness to learn new skills and to travel
