Research area: biomedical engineering, nanotechnology, materials chemistry
The Nanoinengineering group is one of seven research groups at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The group specializes in the design and synthesis of “nano-LEGO” components – such as motors, sensors, and stimuli-responsive materials – to create intelligent nanosystems capable of performing complex tasks. These created systems find applications in human and veterinary nanomedicine, energy, and environmental protection.
What will your job role?
- independent and creative problem-solving of complex research and development tasks in the area of design and synthesis of nanomaterials using advanced techniques, such as bioprinting, to design systems for drug delivery applications
- working with biomaterials for biomedical applications
- participation in solving scientific projects, collaboration with colleagues on biomedical applications
- presentation of results to the scientific community through publications, especially in specialized and scientific journals, and active participation in conferences and seminars
What do we expect from you?
- Ph.D. degree focusing on chemistry, biochemistry, biomedicine, etc.
- at least 5 years of experience in materials chemistry – preparation and characterization of materials and biomaterials for biomedical applications and energy production applications (including relevant master’s and doctoral studies)
- excellent command of Czech and English (ability to publish in both languages)
- experience in solving scientific projects (as a team member)
- experience in preparing scientific publications
What research experience do we require?
- experience with materials characterization methods such as XRD, SEM, XPS, FTIR, rheological analysis, etc.
- laboratory skills related to the synthesis of nanoparticles using either wet chemical synthesis or bioprinting
- basic skills in working with bacteria and cell cultures, experience with operating light and confocal microscopes
What additional skills we appreciate?
- proven experience working with the Bioprinter CELLINK INKREDIBLE platform is an advantage
- ability to gain an overview of the field through independent literature reviews
- ability to conduct independent research and write manuscripts, at least 5 publications in scientific journals
- and at least 3 as the first author

Duration of employment: fixed term until 31. 12. 2025, with the possibility of extension
