Research field: assessment of fish health in aquaculture systems

We are a modern university, teaching and researching agriculture, forestry, economics and technical disciplines in regional and international contexts. NCK TAČR: National Center for Biotechnologies in Veterinary Medicine: The research project focuses on influencing the health status, production parameters, and internal environment of livestock and fish, using selected additives in feed mixtures. The aim of the project is to verify the effect of the added component on the health, morphometry, and microbiome of the digestive tract, production parameters, parameters of the biochemical blood profile, and antioxidant activity in livestock and fish.

What will you do?

  • participating in ensuring the collection and processing of fish tissue samples, field sampling, as well as laboratory analysis and data processing
  • preparing presentations and scientific publications
  • evaluating the impact of endocrine disruptors on fish organisms and changes in gender

What are our requirements?

  • completed university education at the master’s level in the field of veterinary medicine or a related field
  • practical experience in clinical examinations of fish, knowledge of intensive fish farming issues, and freshwater community
  • ability to process and present results
  • experience in sampling blood and tissue from fish, and laboratory work
  • excellent command of the Czech language and basic knowledge of English
  • fieldwork experience
  • ability to work in a team

Job status: 0,6 (24 hours per week)

Expected start: May 2024

Employment contract: for a fixed period until 31 December 2024 (maternity/parental leave replacement)
