Přehled

The Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (NPI) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher or research scientist to join our Department of Nuclear Physics, contributing to research in nuclear reactions, exotic nuclei, and astrophysical processes at our cyclotron accelerator. The position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in high-impact international collaborations, particularly within the GANIL-SPIRAL2 facility, supporting fundamental nuclear science and accelerator-driven applications.

The Nuclear Physics Department at NPI plays a leading role in theoretical and experimental nuclear research in Czechia, focusing on nuclear reaction mechanisms, nuclear data precision, and astrophysical nucleosynthesis. Our collaboration with GANIL-SPIRAL2, one of Europe’s most advanced heavy-ion research centers, provides a unique platform for studying exotic nuclei, neutron-rich isotopes, and nuclear interaction dynamics. As a part of this collaboration, the successful candidate will contribute to large-scale international experiments, supporting advancements in nuclear structure models and reaction studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in nuclear reactions and exotic nuclei in collaboration with GANIL-SPIRAL2.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental nuclear data, contributing to fundamental models of stellar nucleosynthesis.
  • Engage in beamline experiments and detector developments, supporting high-precision measurements.
  • Develop new methodologies for nuclear spectroscopy and reaction studies.
  • Publish findings in high-impact scientific journals and present results at international conferences.
  • Collaborate with global nuclear physics institutions to advance interdisciplinary applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in nuclear physics or astrophysical nuclear research.
  • Expertise in nuclear reaction studies, isotope production, or accelerator-driven experiments.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data modelling.
  • Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills with a track record of publications.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaborative international teams.
