Group description:

We are a newly established laboratory that focuses on deciphering of regulatory pathways governing the growth and progression of different cancer types. The main focus of the research is regulation of cell cycle and protein homeostasis signaling. The scope of the offered project is spatiotemporal regulation of cancer cell quiescence which is crucial for drug resistance emergence, metastasis formation and disease recurrence. More details about the laboratory: HERE

Job description:

The main responsibility of the postdoctoral researcher will be preparation of the “omics” experiments (proteomics, phosphoproteomics, transcriptomics) that will help to identify the main regulatory circuits governing the transition between the quiescent and proliferative cells and the molecules that facilitate communication between these types of cells. Besides independent planning and execution of experiments, the selected candidate will also collaborate with other team members, mentor younger researchers, prepare publications, grant proposals and meeting presentations.

  • PhD in cell or molecular biology, or biomedicine.
  • Publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience in molecular and cell biology techniques, proteomics, cell culture, basic bioinformatics (knowledge of advanced bioinformatics and cancer biology background is a plus).
  • Enthusiasm for science and knowledge, curiosity, willingness to learn new techniques, personal and scientific integrity
  • Active English knowledge (written and spoken).

We offer:

The group is located in BIOCEV (Biotechnology and Biomedicine Center in Vestec, Prague) which is a  joint project of six institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and two faculties of Charles University in Prague. The center offers access to state of art technologies and collaboration with excellent research groups. The laboratory offers novel and interesting research area with clear clinical application potential, strong emphasis on mentoring, personal growth and career development, inclusive and transparent work environment
