POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER
The Department of Environmental Technology – Laboratory of Environmental Nanorobots at the Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovations of the Technical University of Liberec focuses on the development of autonomous micro and nanoscale robotic systems for the removal of toxic pollutants from aqueous environments and soil mediums.
Following the growth of projects, we are looking for a scientist in the field of the development of autonomous micro and nanoscale robotic systems for the removal of toxic pollutants from aqueous environments and soil mediums.
What will be your job description:
- Synthesize and functionalize graphene, graphene oxide (GO), reduced graphene oxide (RGO), and related composites.
- Develop catalytic nanomaterials for pollutant degradation and environmental applications.
- Integrate graphene-based materials into micro/nanorobotic systems and evaluate catalytic performance.
- Ensure industrial-grade reproducibility of synthesized materials.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to publications and presentations.
What we expect
- Education: Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or related field.
- Expertise:
– Strong background in graphene-based nanomaterials, particularly reduced graphene oxide and doped carbon systems.
– Experience in synthesis and characterization of graphene derivatives and composites.
– Knowledge of catalytic processes and nanomaterial integration into functional systems. - Technical Skills:
– Advanced analytical techniques (e.g., SEM, TEM, XPS, Raman spectroscopy).
– Hands-on experience with nanomaterial functionalization and coating processes. - Soft Skills:
– Ability to work independently and in a team.
– Strong problem-solving and communication skills. - Desirable Skills:
– Experience with micro/nanorobotic platforms.
– Familiarity with environmental remediation technologies.
– Track record of publications in high-impact journals.
Working time and salary
- Your job title will be Research Scientist (C2/R2) depending on your educational background
- 100% time (40 hours/week)
- start preferably immediately, but later start date is also possible
- we offer you a fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension to an indefinite period
- you may be awarded a salary supplement or performance bonus on top of your tariff wage based on your previous experience
