Přehled

A postdoctoral opportunity is available within the research group led by Dr. Martin Rejhon for a talented and motivated researcher with a solid understanding of 2D materials. Dr. Rejhon, a promising young researcher with a strong publication record and experience gained at New York University, USA, has been awarded the Junior Star 2024 grant (1 million EUR over 5 years) by the Czech Science Foundation (GACR), recognizing his potential as an outstanding early-career scientist. The group’s research endeavors focus on advancing tunable electronic and optoelectronic devices using epitaxial graphene with tailored stacking orders.

The open postdoctoral position is expected to start in September 2025. The initial contract is for one year (with an extension possible).

Requirements:

  • The Ph.D. degree or an equivalent in the relevant field by the starting date. The degree must not be awarded more than 7 years prior the starting date (this period can be extended in the case of maternity/paternity leave, long-term illness, caregiving for a family member for more than 90 days, or due to a military service).
  • Practical experience in the preparation and characterization of 2D materials.
  • Hands-on experience with AFM and its use in characterization of mechanical and electrical properties of materials.
  • Practical knowledge of Raman spectroscopy.
  • Experience with basic optical and electrical measurements.
  • Practical knowledge of lithographic techniques and work in cleanroom environments is an advantage.
  • Practical programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab). Experience with LabView is an advantage.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Traceable publication activity in peer-reviewed journals.
  • We expect the capability of independent work, as well as the ability to work in a team.
