A postdoctoral position in the senior research group Drug Design and Medicinal Chemistry headed by Dr. Radim Nencka is available for a highly motivated and creative scientist with expertise in organic and medicinal chemistry to participate in the project New Technologies for Translational Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences / NETPHARM, project ID CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004607, which is co-funded by the European Union.

Our projects are at the forefront of identifying novel kinase and methyltransferase inhibitors as potential treatment for cancer and autoimmune diseases, aiming to make a significant impact in these critical areas of healthcare.

The successful candidate will work at IOCB Prague, a top European institution with state-of-the-art facilities for organic and medicinal chemistry, as well as biochemistry and molecular biology. The city of Prague offers a stimulating atmosphere and is an excellent place to live.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree in Organic, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field
  • Excellent expertise in organic synthesis and retrosynthetic analysis
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English (proficiency equivalent to a standardized test such as TOEFL or IELTS)
  • Laboratory experience in organic synthesis
  • Prior experience with biochemical assays such as fluorescence anisotropy and surface plasmon resonance is advantageous
  • Experience in programming, working with Linux, and familiarity with CADD techniques would be considered advantageous
