The Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (NPI) in Řež is offering an exciting research position for a Postdoctoral Fellow or Researcher in Experimental Physics, specializing in materials studies using neutron and ion beams. This is a unique opportunity to join the Laboratory of Nanomaterials at the Department of Neutron and Ion Methods, contributing to research in advanced materials synthesis and characterization.
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative scientist to join our dynamic research team, focusing on the design, synthesis, and analysis of advanced materials utilizing neutron and ion beam techniques. The successful candidate will engage in ongoing projects, collaborating with leading researchers and demonstrating an innovative approach to scientific exploration.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in materials science, solid-state physics, or applied nuclear physics.
- Perform thin film deposition using ion sputtering, molecular beam epitaxy, and physical vapor deposition techniques.
- Utilize neutron and ion beam analytical methods, alongside AFM and SEM microscopy.
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present at international conferences.
- Work both independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in materials science, nuclear physics, or solid-state physics.
- Proven expertise in thin film deposition and material characterization techniques.
- Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and critical thinking.
- Excellent communication skills, with a solid track record of publications and conference contributions.
- Collaborative mindset, problem-solving ability, and perseverance in research challenges.
