Overview
The Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IIC CAS) invites applications for a PhD position in the field of phosphinate and phosphonate metal–organic frameworks (MOFs).
This PhD project focuses on advanced synthetic chemistry and materials research in a highly topical area with strong international relevance.
Research focus
The successful candidate will work on:
- design and synthesis of novel phosphinate and phosphonate linkers
- preparation and crystallization of new MOF structures
- advanced synthetic methods, including work with air-sensitive compounds (Schlenk techniques)
- comprehensive characterization of materials (NMR, MS, IR, powder XRD, gas adsorption)
Candidate profile
We are looking for a motivated candidate who:
- holds an M.Sc. in Inorganic or Organic Chemistry
- has experience in organic, inorganic or organometallic synthesis
- is familiar with structure elucidation techniques
- is independent, proactive and eager to learn new methods
Fluent English is required; knowledge of Czech is not necessary.
