Tentative Thesis Title:
Advanced Quantum Monte Carlo Simulations of Strongly Correlated Electron Systems

What We Offer:

  • A fully-funded PhD position (no tuition fees)
  • Initial net monthly salary of 25,000 CZK (~1,000 EUR/month), corresponding to approximately 34,000 CZK gross

Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree in physics, computational physics, materials science, quantum chemistry, or related disciplines
  • Strong background in computational and theoretical methods
  • Proven programming skills (object-oriented programming, Python, C/C++)
  • Experience with atomistic simulations using quantum chemistry or plane-wave codes (e.g., Gaussian, GAMESS, Quantum Espresso, VASP)
  • Proficient English communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
