Mass Spectrometry/Metabolomics Specialist

in the Centre of Molecular Structure, located at the Institute of Biotechnology in BIOCEV campus.

Job description:

The Structural Mass Spectrometry Core Facility is in the process of establishing a new Metabolomics Division and is actively seeking a specialist in the field. This individual will be tasked with setting up methods and workflows for the detection and quantification of metabolites using Bruker’s mass spectrometers. The responsibilities for this role also include conducting mass spectrometry measurements on a routine basis, as well as handling data processing and reporting of results.

Skills and Experience:

  • Instrument Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience with mass spectrometry instruments and liquid chromatography systems.
  • Method Development: Proven ability to develop and optimize liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry methods for metabolite analysis, including proficiency in sample preparation, chromatographic separation, and data acquisition.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in data processing, analyzing, and interpreting of mass spectrometry data.
  • Quality Control: Understanding of quality control and assurance procedures to ensure the generation of reliable and reproducible results.
  • Metabolomics Background: While not mandatory, a background in metabolomics or related fields would be advantageous.
