The Department of Experimental Biology, Section of Animal Physiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Science of MU is a modern, fully equipped workplace where individual research groups are engaged in research at all levels – from molecules and cells to invertebrates and humans; from basic research to the application of results in human and veterinary medicine.
Job Description
Key Duties:
- Active participation in the preparation and implementation of education in immunology for students in bachelor, master and doctoral degree programmes at the Faculty of Science
- Creation of texts for educational purposes
- Participation in the dissemination of knowledge in the field of experimental biology to the general public
Skills and Qualifications
The applicant must have:
- Completed university education in a doctoral programme (Ph.D.) in animal physiology or a related field
- Ability to perform independent teaching and experimental activities
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Excellent knowledge of the Czech language, both written and spoken, at C2 level; in the case of non-native speakers, it must be evidenced by a certificate or a high school graduation certificate in Czech language
- Active cooperation with Czech and foreign experts in the field
- Practical experience with in vivo experiments using mice – from preparation of animal protocols to inducing various types of inflammation, fibrosis, tumors, and isolating primary cells
- Knowledge of experimental work with extracellular vesicles
- Practical knowledge of flow cytometry methods
- Active attitude, initiative and willingness to continue professional growth
- Organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Civic and moral integrity, responsibility
