About the Position
HiLASE Centre is looking for a Junior Researcher to join the ATLAS (Advanced Technologies for Laser Applications in Space) project, contributing to next-generation laser systems, particularly in the field of adaptive optics and laser system design and simulation.

The selected candidate will be involved in the design, development, and testing of optical systems with emphasis on practical applications such as spaceborne platforms or lasers for optical communication. This role is ideal for individuals interested in numerical modelling of advanced laser technologies and their optimization for their potential applications in space and atmospheric environments.

What You Will Do
As a Junior Researcher, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working on research objectives aligned with the goals of the ATLAS project.
  • Designing, modelling, testing, and optimizing adaptive optics components for their intended use in free space environments.
  • Capability of conducting independent research and implementation of numerical solutions to the general model of laser system in question. Open mindset for exploring new methodologies and technologies.
  • Designing and conducting experiments in the field of adaptive optics. Gathering of experimental data and their analysis.
  • Publishing research results in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at scientific conferences.
