Academic Position at the Department of Plant Biology, Faculty of AgriSciences

Research Area: plant biology

The Department of Plant Biology focuses on the study of the integrity of plants, related to the life functions, growth, and development of plants. Experts utilize a wide range of methods, from genetic, microscopic, biochemical, and biophysical techniques to monitoring plant communities. They aim to understand the biological essence of plants as a functional whole, as well as their interactions with the environment or other living organisms in the ecosystem. The institute collaborates with other basic and applied research institutions, as well as private sector entities.

What will be your job responsibilities?

  • management of the department regarding personnel and finances
  • coordination of pedagogy, science, and research conducted at the department
  • educational and research activities in the field of plant biology

What do we expect from you?

  • university degree at the Ph.D. level in plant biology or a related field; associate professor or professor title is an advantage
  • excellent knowledge of the Czech language at C2 level, knowledge of English and another foreign language is an advantage
  • organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • ability to work both in teams and independently
  • ability to navigate labor law regulations and economic rules of university management
  • personal and professional qualities for teaching
  • research and publication activity in plant biology or related fields, experience publishing in journals with Impact Factor
  • willingness to work on personal development and qualification growth
  • clean criminal record
