The Department of Forest Management and Applied Geoinformatics specializes in connecting forest management with applied geoinformatics technologies. What will your responsibilities be?

  • Planning, organization, and oversight of all aspects of the department’s activities
  • Managing the department’s budget and resources
  • Supervising academic and research staff, including regular evaluations
  • Pedagogical and research activities in the field
  • Ensuring high-quality education and student guidance
  • Supporting research activities and securing grants for the department
  • Collaborating with other departments

What do we expect from you?

  • Higher education – at least a Ph.D. in forestry, landscape architecture, forest management, or a related field; the rank of associate professor or professor is an advantage
  • Excellent active knowledge of Czech, knowledge of English for educational and publishing purposes
  • Documentable research activities in forestry, landscape architecture, forest management, or related fields, experience publishing in journals with an impact factor and managing research projects at both domestic and international levels
  • Ability to navigate labor law regulations and economic rules governing financial management in higher education
  • Organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • Capacity for both teamwork and independent work
  • Personal and professional prerequisites for pedagogical activity
  • A desire to work on personal development and professional growth
