Academic Position at the Department of Morphology, Physiology, and Animal Genetics, Faculty of Agriculture

Research Area: morphology, physiology, and genetics of animals

The Department provides education in areas of animal morphology and physiology, cellular biology, immunology, zoonoses hygiene and disease prevention, and animal genetics. It has facilities such as a histology classroom, an autopsy room, a collection of permanent anatomical preparations, an osteological collection, and several laboratories. Research focuses on the immune system of mammary glands in cattle, studies of osteoblasts, wound healing, the internal environment of animals, gene expression related to utility, as well as the study of microsatellites and genetic diversity of animals or limb diseases in cattle.

What will be your job responsibilities?

  • management of the department in terms of personnel and finances
  • coordination of pedagogy, science, and research conducted at the department
  • educational and scientific research activities in the field of morphology, physiology, and genetics of animals

What do we expect from you?

  • university education at the Ph.D. level in the field of animal morphology, physiology, genetics, or a related field; associate professor or professor title is an advantage
  • excellent knowledge of the Czech language at the C2 level, knowledge of English and another foreign language is an advantage
  • organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • capabilities for both team-oriented and independent work
  • ability to navigate labor law regulations and economic rules of the higher education institution
  • personal and professional prerequisites for pedagogical work
  • scientific research and publication activity in one of the specified fields; morphology, physiology, genetics of animals or a related field, experience with publishing in journals with impact factors
  • willingness to work on your further personal development and professional growth
  • clean criminal record
