Academic Position at the Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Faculty of AgriSciences

Research Area: animal breeding and genetics

The Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics provides education primarily in specialized breeding-oriented subjects in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in Zootechnics and in the Doctoral program of General and Special Zootechnics. Academic and research staff participate in the research activities aimed at developing scientific knowledge in the area of animal reproduction, evaluating and assessing the quality of the production traits and exterior of economically significant animal species, and optimizing the breeding environment to enhance the welfare of bred animals.

What will your job responsibilities be?

  • management of the department in terms of personnel and financial aspects
  • coordination of pedagogy, science, and research conducted at the department
  • teaching and research activities in the field of animal breeding and genetics

What do we expect from you?

  • university degree at the Ph.D. level in the field of animal breeding and genetics or a related field; title of associate professor or professor is an advantage
  • excellent knowledge of the Czech language at the C2 level, knowledge of English and another foreign language is an advantage
  • organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • ability to work both in a team and independently
  • ability to navigate labor law regulations and economic rules governing higher education institutions
  • personal and professional prerequisites for pedagogical work
  • research and publication activity in the field of animal breeding and genetics or a related field, experience in
  • publishing in journals with an impact factor
  • willingness to work on your further personal development and qualification growth
  • clean criminal record
