The dean of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, invites applications for job vacancy with a deadline for applications May 28, 2026
- Teaching French to non-disciplinary students; general language courses (at A1-B2 level) and specialized courses (specific skills or disciplines)
- Preparation of exams and their implementation
- Professional development and pedagogical innovation activities (e.g. participation in workshops, organization of peer-sharing workshops, design and development of teaching materials for face-to-face and online learning environments, course design and innovation)
- Participation in projects
- Participation in the administrative work for the department
- Full-time collaboration (40 hours, 16 hours of direct teaching per week)

- Attachment 2: A proposal for a new French course (that would be useful for students of the Faculty of Arts and would supplement the current offer of the Language Centre) – title, annotation, learning outcomes, subject areas – in Czech

If the career development plan is required, it must aim to commence the habilitation procedure (procedure for the granting of associate professorship) no later than nine years after the expected beginning of employment.
Based on the committee’s decision, either all applicants or selected applicants only will be invited to the second round of the competition, i.e. an interview.

Qualifications
Master’s degree (Mgr.) in French Philology or Teaching French as a Foreign Language, with a teaching qualification preferred. Experience with group instruction of French as a foreign language Czech language proficiency at the B2 level Willingness to pursue further professional development Ability to work effectively in a team Strong communication skills
