Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, represented by the Dean of the Faculty, announces an open competition according to the Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions

for the project New Technologies for Translational Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences /NETPHARM,
Project No.: CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004607,

within the Operation Programme Johannes Amos Comenius (OP JAK), P 1: Research and Development, SO 1.1: Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and deploying advanced technologies,

to fill the research position:

FaF_VZ3_64: PhD Student, 0.2 FTE (20 %),

Place of work: Hradec Králové

Responsibilities:

  • Independent performance of the research activities in the relevant field.
  • Working for VZ3 (WP3) in a young scientific team focused on nanomaterials based drug-delivery systems
  • Implementation of modern technological methods for physicochemical analysis of colloidal dosage forms.
  • Evaluation of granulometric and electrochemical parameters of nanomaterials, as well as analysis of drug encapsulation by HPLC.
  • Optimization of procedures for the preparation of new nanomaterials with emphasis on their granulometric properties and biocompatibility.
  • Performing advanced drug-release experiments.
  • Introducing the new methods for colloidal drug evaluation into the WP portfolio, preparation of samples for scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, etc.
  • Presentation and publication of the achieved results on an international level.
  • Involvement in the preparation of related national and international projects.
  • Participation in key project activities with an emphasis on application potential.

Profile:

  • Education in pharmacy, pharmaceutical technology, or related technological and pharmaceutical fields.
  • Experience in the preparation of pharmaceutical colloids, working with very small quantities of materials, experience with laser diffraction methods including data interpretation, working with high performance liquid chromatography.
  • An advantage is scientific and publication activity in the field of pharmaceutical (nano)technology, technology of advanced drug delivery systems or related fields.
  • An advantage is publication activity (at least first author publication), letter of recommendation from 2 experts in the field, grant activity, active knowledge of English language.

The estimated monthly wage: 45 000 CZK (1,0 FTE)

The start of work: 1 July 2024, or can be negotiated

Type of employment contract: for 1-3 years, with the expectation that the contract will be extended until 29 February 2028.

Employment: part-time (0.2 FTE)
