The position is financed by the project New Technologies for Translational Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences /NETPHARM, Project No.: CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004607, within the Operation Programme Johannes Amos Comenius (OP JAK), P 1: Research and Development, SO 1.1: Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and deploying advanced technologies,

Responsibilities:
  • Independent performance of the research activities in the relevant field.
  • Design, organization of work, planning and execution of experiments for VZ2 (WP2) – pharmacology and toxicology.
  • Introduction and application of in vitro methods for testing and development of new substances, laboratory work with cell cultures, tissues and animal models.
  • Monitoring interactions of test molecules with the organism at different levels – in silico, in vitro, ex vivo, in situ and in vivo.
  • Performing parametric and non-parametric statistical analyses.
  • Interpretation of data with regard to the possibilities of extrapolation to humans and development of application potential.
  • Expert mentoring of PhD students.
  • Presentation and publication of the achieved results on an international level.
  • Involvement in the preparation of related national and international projects.
  • Participation in key project activities with an emphasis on application potential.
The estimated monthly wage: 62 000 CZK (1.0 FTE)

The start of work: 1 July 2026, or can be negotiated

Type of employment contract: for 1 year, with the expectation that the contract will be extended until 29 February 2028.

Employment: part-time (0.2 FTE)

Qualifications

Profile: Junior researcher (postdoc position): a researcher who is no more than 7 years beyond the award of his/her academic PhD or its equivalent (ISCED level 8 equivalent). Completion of a university doctoral degree (PhD) in a biomedical field at a university in the Czech Republic or achieved a comparable degree at a foreign university no later than on the date of employment. H-index ≥ 5. At least 3 first-authored publications (preferably with IF ≥ 5) in a high-quality foreign scientific journal of biomedical interest. Letter of recommendation from 2 experts in the field (at least 1 from a foreign institution). Active knowledge of the English language in written and oral form. Scientific and publication activity in the field of reproductive biology/pharmacology and/or placentology is an advantage. Experience in scientific work on cell and tissue culture. Experience with experimental work on oocytes is an advantage. Other knowledge and skills: Prerequisites for excellent research work Flexibility, diligence, thoroughness, and responsibility Good organizational and communication skills Ability to work both independently and in a team High level of work commitment Strong willingness to learn new things continuously
