The CATRIN research institute (Czech Advanced Technology and Research Institute) is actively seeking exceptional candidates for the upcoming ERC Advanced Grant 2025 call, opening on 22 May 2025 (deadline: 28 August 2025). We welcome expressions of interest from internationally recognized scientists (preferably residing in USA) in fields aligned with CATRIN’s strengths — particularly those working at the interface of:
- Biomedical applications of advanced functional materials or nanomaterials or atomically doped nanomaterials
- Machine learning for material design and synthesis
As a host institution, CATRIN offers world-class infrastructure, including state-of-the-art laboratories for nanomaterials synthesis, high-resolution microscopy, surface and electrochemical characterization, and biochemical testing. Researchers benefit from a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment and strong institutional support for grant preparation and administration.
In line with the European Research Council’s newly enhanced funding scheme, ERC Advanced Grant applicants relocating to the EU are now eligible for up to €2 million in additional start-up funding (https://erc.europa.eu/news-events/news/increased-erc-funding-top-global-researchers-moving-europe-now-confirmed), on top of the core grant of up to €2.5 million. This brings the total funding to as much as €4.5 million, enabling the establishment of cutting-edge research groups in Europe.
We are particularly interested in researchers considering relocation to Europe who seek a vibrant scientific environment and a committed institutional partner for ERC success. Our experienced team will provide comprehensive support throughout the application process, including scientific editing, budgeting, and strategic alignment with ERC evaluation criteria.
If you are a globally recognized research leader ready to push the boundaries of science in a supportive and innovative setting, CATRIN is your gateway to Europe’s premier frontier research landscape.
To express your interest, please, send your CV and short project outline (~one page) till June 30:
