DATA SCIENTIST – PATTERN RECOGNITION / Department of process modelling and artifical intelligence


  • Support in solving strategic and operational customer problems
  • Designing machine learning models
  • Data transformation and creation of related programs
  • Analysis, design and implementation of customer solutions

Required competence and expertise:

  • Knowledge of Tech Stack Python or R
  • Experience with Data manipulation libraries (Pandas, tidyverse) Visualization Libraries (e.g. MatplotLib, ggplot2, Dash, shiny) Statistical Modelling libraries: scikit-learn or R modelling packages Version control (Git) , with cloud platforms Azure, AWS Deep, Tensorflow, PyTorch Containerization (Docker), with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Splunk) or with distributed processing of large datasets on Hadoop (PySpark)
  • Analytical capabilities
  • Experience with data analysis, statistics, mathematical and probabilistic models
  • Ability to understand data well and be able to transform, visualize and interpret it as needed
  • Active knowledge of the English language
  • Ability to communicate independently with the client and present deliverables both verbally and in written form
  • High level of creativity and inventiveness in dealing with research projects
  • Reliability in meeting deadlines
  • Flexibility and responsibility

Required education:

  • Completed secondary education ideally in a relevant field

Employment relationship:

  • 100% workload, or by agreement
  • The employment contract will be concluded until 31.12.2022 or according to an agreement with the possibility of extension in connection with the implementation of projects and internal regulations of TUL

Date of commencement of employment:  Immediately, or by agreement


  • Possibility of incentive and performance bonus, possibility of additional remuneration in relation to the employee’s performance evaluation
  • Wage rate B4-B6 according to the Internal Wage Regulation

Working conditions and wage classification are governed by the Rules of Procedure, the Internal Wage Regulations of the Technical University of Liberec, the Labor Code and the Rules of the Selection Procedures for filling the positions of academic staff and other employees of the Technical University of Liberec.
