Core Facility Technician

in the GeneCore Facility, located at the Institute of Biotechnology in BIOCEV campus. The GeneCore Facility offers advanced transcriptomic services for both academic and commercial users, specializing in bulk, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomics. We support the entire experimental workflow, including experimental design, sample preparation and quality control, library preparation, sequencing, and comprehensive data analysis services. Job description:

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Gene Core team, responsible for the daily operations of the laboratory. Key responsibilities will include performing library preparation for a variety of applications and operating and maintaining core facility instrumentation. The role also involves communicating with and providing technical support to facility users, maintaining laboratory inventories, ordering supplies, and assisting in the establishment and optimization of new protocols and services.

Requirements:

  • MSc or BSc degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related field
  • Proven hands-on experience with fundamental molecular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, and nucleic acid handling/quantification
  • Previous experience in a high-throughput or core facility environment is highly advantageous
  • Direct experience with library preparation and sequencing technologies is a strong plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a service-oriented team
  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
