Overview

The purpose of this internship project is to contribute to the development and automation of a low-vacuum, high-temperature induction furnace dedicated to diamond research. The project combines electronics, embedded programming, and materials science in order to create a reliable and efficient experimental platform for diamond catalytic etching studies.

The internship will focus on the design and development of a dedicated electronic control system capable of monitoring and regulating furnace parameters such as temperature, heating cycles, pressure and process gas flow. This includes the development of an electronic board, integration of sensors and control components, and programming of a microcontroller-based interface for automation and data acquisition.

The automated furnace will be used for the study of catalytic etching of diamond. These experiments require precise thermal control and stable operating conditions, making automation an essential aspect of the project. The work will therefore contribute both to the improvement of experimental capabilities and to ongoing research activities within the team.

Through this interdisciplinary project, the intern will gain practical experience in embedded systems, instrumentation, and scientific research applied to advanced materials and high-temperature systems.
